These Jell-O syringe shots are my Halloween version with vodka.

Halloween syringe shots serve a dual purpose: fun drink for guests and party decor! Win-win! 👻🎃
Easier than traditional Jell-O shots, they only take a few minutes and three ingredients that you most likely already have in your pantry.

Halloween Jello Shot How to Video

- 16 1-Ounce Jello Shot Syringes
- Medium mixing bowl
- Spatula or spoon
- 1 3-Ounce box strawberry Jell-O
- 1 Cup boiling water
- 1 Cup chilled vodka
How to Make Jell-O Syringe Shots
- Add the Jell-O and boiling water to a medium mixing bowl and stir until the Jell-O is fully dissolved. This step is important, as you don’t want the jello powder to clog the syringes.
- Add vodka and stir again.
- Place the tip of a clean party syringe into the liquid Jell-O mixture and slowly pull back the plunger to fill it to the 1-ounce mark.
- Turn the syringe upside down so that the tip is in the air. Give the syringe a flick so that the air bubbles go to the tip, and then slowly press the plunger of the syringe until all the air has escaped and the jelly is flush with the tip.
- Place the end cap on the syringe and store them, cap down, in a cup or something similar.
- Chill for at least 2 hours or until set. Serve and enjoy!

This recipe was tested using vodka, but you can swap that out for rum or tequila OR a flavored vodka 😋.
Change the Jell-O flavor. Green or purple would be equally spooky as red.
These were made for Halloween, but this syringe shot recipe would also be great for a nursing school graduation party or a physician's graduation.
How to Fill Syringes for Jello Shots
You can fill the party syringes two ways:
Put the tip of the clean syringe into the bowl of jello before it sets, and draw the plunger back to fill the syringe.
Or you can remove the plunger but leave the tips and pour the jello into the syringe through the top, and then replace the plunger (this is not the best method because you'll end up with a lot of air).

Can you make syringe Jell-O shots without alcohol?

How far in advance can I make syringe shots?
You can make them up to 3 days before your party. Keep them refrigerated with the caps on so they don’t dry out. They actually firm up more overnight, which makes them easier to serve.
How do I transport Jell-O syringe shots to a party?
Stand them tip-down in a tall cup, pitcher, or even a plastic container filled with rice to keep them upright. Pop a lid on the container and they’ll travel without spilling.
Do I need to use real syringes?
No, these are novelty plastic syringes made for parties. They’re sold in multipacks and are much larger than medical syringes, making them safe and perfect for filling with Jell-O.
Can I use rum, tequila, or flavored vodka instead of plain vodka?
Absolutely. Rum and tequila work well and flavored vodkas (like cherry, citrus, or whipped cream) can add a delicious twist. Match the Jell-O flavor to your booze for the best combo.

Jell-O Shot Syringe Recipe
Turn three simple ingredients into edible “blood samples” for your Halloween party. Made with strawberry Jell-O and vodka, they’re easy to prepare ahead and serve in needle-free party syringes.

- 1 3-ounce box strawberry Jell-O
- 1 Cup boiling water

Notes
Don’t rest the tip of the syringes on the bottom of the bowl to fill them. You don’t want to end up with leftover Jell-O residue.
You'll need one-ounce or 30 ml syringes for this recipe. These plastic party syringes are perfect.
