Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make Snow Globe Cookies ahead of time?
Yes, assemble them up to 24 hours in advance and store in an airtight container at room temperature. The pretzel arms may soften slightly over time, but they’ll still look cute and taste great.
How should I store them?
Keep them in a single layer in an airtight container at room temp for up to 3 days. If stacking is unavoidable, use wax or parchment paper between layers to protect the decorations.
Do these freeze well?
No, freezing can cause the chocolate to bloom (turn streaky) and the marshmallows to get chewy.
Can I use something besides Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for the base?
Yes actually. Use any small round chocolate candy such as Rolos, a square of Hershey's chocolate, Dove Promises or even a mini cookie, like a miniature Oreo or Chips Ahoy.
What if I don’t have edible markers?
Use melted chocolate piped with a toothpick or the end of a skewer for eyes and buttons, and a tiny bit of orange candy melt for the nose.
Are these cookies kid-friendly to make?
Definitely, your children can help assemble the marshmallow snowmen and sprinkle the sugar “snow.” Adults should handle the melted chocolate part.
