I’ve been baking and experimenting in the kitchen since I was knee high to a pig’s eye.
Baking cookies was a special time with my mom and my grandma.
And now as a middle-aged newspaper reporter and photographer, I’m addicted to finding, tweaking and developing the very best recipes for you.

The only thing I’ve ever wanted to do was write.
And that’s what I’ve been doing for over 25 years! First doing public relations and development and for the past 22 years, as a newspaper reporter on the coast of Maine.
Newspaper reporting is the best job in the world, btw. Having a reason to ask people all kinds of questions and then writing about it—it’s a nosy Nellie’s dream.
Yes, I'm a self-admitted snoop. In fact sometimes when I was a kid, my parents would call me “big ears,” because I was always listening to conversations.
I have a degree in English literature from the University of Missouri.
