Fruit skewers with dip ideas are a fun dessert no matter the season or holiday. Make patriotic fruit skewers with blueberries, raspberries and banana slices or make with all red fruit for Valentine's Day.

Serve these juicy fruit skewers as is or pair them with a dip. Try microwave S'mores Dip for chocolate fruit skewers.
Or for an Italian bent, Cannoli Cream Dip would be delish.
But my favorite fruit spread is Mascarpone Dip.

How to Make Fruit Kebabs Step by Step
Make a lemon water bath to either spray onto the fruit or dip the fruit in once cut to prevent browning.
Use two tablespoons of lemon juice--fresh ideally but artificial will also work--and two tablespoons of cold water. Put in a bowl or in a small spray bottle.
Rinse the grapes and berries, if using, with warm water. Let dry on a linen dishcloth or paper towel.
Blueberries, blackberries and raspberries can be threaded whole onto the bamboo skewers.
However, if your strawberries are too large to eat as a mouthful, slice the berries in half lengthwise. Trim away the green caps.
Peel and chop the pineapple into bite size pieces.
If using oranges, peel and portion into segments.
Peel and slice Kiwi, unless you're using baby Kiwi fruits, which are the size of grapes and don't need peeling.
Treat the cut fruit with lemon water and begin threading onto skewers.

Start adding the fruit pieces to the skewers.
I find it easier to add the fruit in batches. By this I mean work with one fruit at a time.
If you're starting with a blueberry, put a blueberry on all the skewers then proceed with the next fruit, putting it on all the kabobs and so on and so forth.
Once your bamboo sticks are heavy with fruit chunks, place them on a cookie sheet or sheet pan, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

What size skewer to use? Six inches is a good length--festive with a good amount of length without becoming too unwieldy to manage eating or balancing on a disposable plate at a party.

If you haven't yet, spray fruit kabobs with a small kitchen spray bottle containing equal parts lemon juice and cold water--two tablespoons each.
Turn the kabobs over to spray the other side.
No spray bottle? Put the lemon water in a shallow dish and dip the kabobs.
Place finished fruit skewers on a foil or plastic wrap lined sheet pan, cover with a damp paper towel then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
You can make fruit skewers up to 24 hours in advance if sprayed with lemon water and refrigerated.
