Christmas Sprinkle Gooey Butter Cookies
Gooey Butter is a thing around here. My most popular recipe on this site is St. Louis Style Gooey Butter Cake made with cake mix followed closely by Gooey Butter Cake from scratch.

Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix, (ideally 15 to 18 ounces)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
- Christmas Sprinkles (optional)

- Rubber spatula
- Parchment paper
- Sheet pans
- Cookie Scoop
Step by Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Make the dough.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
Gradually stir in the yellow cake mix until everything is well combined.
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes.
Portion dough using a teaspoon or a cookie scoop.
Roll in sprinkles if using.
Bake cookies on a parchment lined cookie sheet for 12 minutes.
Let cookies cool on baking sheet for five minutes before moving to a wire rack.
