- All purpose flour
- Kosher salt
- Baking powder
- Cream of tartar
- Butter
- Vanilla extract
- Granulated sugar

How To Make Sprinkle Cookies
- Whisk together dry ingredients and set aside.
- Beat butter, sugar, vanilla and egg together until light and fluffy.
- Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and beat on low for just a minute or two or until combined and no white streaks of flour remain. Over beating at this step will result in tough cookies.
- Add sprinkles to the dough and stir until combined.
- If you really want to gild the lily, you can also roll the dough, once formed into balls, in a bowl of sprinkles.
- You might find the sprinkles stick better if you dampen the balls slightly with your wet hands or lightly running a damp paper towel over them.
- Drop by teaspoon full or with a cookie scoop onto a parchment or Silpat lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F for 12 to 14 minutes.
Let rest for five minutes after removing from oven.

Super Festive Sprinkle Sugar Cookies
Sprinkle Sugar Cookies are soft, chewy, festive and so easy to make. Get tips about working with sprinkles and when to put them on.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose, flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 1-½ cups granulated sugar
- One large egg, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup sprinkles or jimmies + extra for rolling
Instructions
In a medium bowl whisk together the dry ingredients, flour through cream of tartar.
Cream the butter and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until soft and creamy about two minutes using an electric mixer or a stand mixer.
Add sugar to the butter mixture and beat until lighter in color and fluffy. This will take approximately 3 to 5 minutes depending on the strength of your mixer.
Add egg and mix for a minute.
Add dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Add sprinkles and stir until well incorporated.
Bake at 350°F on a parchment lined baking sheet for 12 to 14 minutes. Baking times may vary depending on how hot or cool your oven runs.
Let rest for five minutes before moving to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Notes
