Why These Bars Have My Seal of Approval
- These are easy. If you don't want to whip up the base dough from scratch, you can use a mix or try refrigerated cookie dough.
- No mixer needed.
- The red and green accents make them look festive as fluff.
- Christmas Cookie Bars, with a switch of the themed Oreos and M&M candies, could easily be turned into Halloween Cookie Bars, Easter Cookie Bars or Valentine Cookie Bars.

Christmas Cookie Bars
Christmas Cookie Bars are loaded with festive mix-ins: a buttery cookie base, a full layer of Christmas Oreos, and plenty of red and green M&M’s. They’re quick to throw together, bake in one pan and slice beautifully for holiday trays.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup crushed Christmas Oreos (plus 9 whole Oreos for layering)
- ¼ cup Christmas M&M’s
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, vanilla, and salt. Mix until fully combined.
Add the flour and mix until just combined and no white streaks remain. Do not overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips, M&M’s, and crushed Oreos, reserving some for garnish.
Press about ⅓ of the cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Arrange the 9 whole Oreos in a single layer on top of the dough.
Spread the remaining cookie dough over the Oreos and press gently to cover.
Sprinkle the reserved crushed Oreos and M&M’s over the top.
Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool the bars in the pan for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
