Cooking
I have been cooking the begeezus out of two Asian chicken recipes from the April/May 2018 issue of Fine Cooking.
Sweet and Spicy Chicken Thighs with Seared Scallions have become a meal in regular rotation. The menfolk love it. I love it. It comes together pretty quickly with ingredients you probably have in your pantry. I serve with rice and sometimes steamed broccoli. You make a sauce with this dish that's great over vegetables. This recipe doubles and triples beautifully.
The other one I've made a couple times that we have enjoyed--on the opposite side of the above image--is Crispy Garlic Chicken Thighs.
Both of those recipes are the creation of Joanne Smart.
We thank you Joanne Smart!
Watching
I've been watching Drew Barrymore on the big screen since she and I were both children. I've got a few years on her but we're both in our oh no four oh decade 🙂 If you haven't seen her newest Netflix comedy series Santa Clarita Diet you must. It's so funny.

Warning, the show is really for people with a dark sense of humor. If you laugh at inappropriate things, you'll enjoy the show.
Joel and Sheila Hammond are realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending both their lives down a road of death and destruction… but in a good way.
Did you see the latest Vacation movie? The oldest son in that film, Skyler Gisondo, is the neighbor boy in Santa Clarita Diet and he's really funny.
Listening
Sophie Milman's In the Moonlight. I'm especially fond of "Daydream," which I find celebratory.
Also, have you discovered Amazon Music playlists yet? Cleaning the House Playlist will motivate you to clean for an hour and 28 minutes. I was a bit skeptical but it worked. Note-I am Not an Amazon affiliate.
Reading
I haven't been reading a ton. If I'm being totally honest, I'm not even keeping up with my magazine subscriptions. I did read a fun article in Money about the author of one of my favorite books from the 90's Your Money or Your Life. Vicki Robin is being called the Milennial Money Whisperer. Incidentally, if you haven't read Your Money or Your Life you really should. And it's being updated as we speak.
