Amazon Prime Cooking Shows (What to Watch)

Published: Apr 12, 2022 · Updated: May 6, 2022 by Jennifer · This post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Amazon Prime Cooking Shows can be hard to find and aren't as prolific as you might imagine.

I’ve done several searches of Amazon Prime Video looking for cooking shows to share with you and I only found less than a dozen.

So, I created a list for you of what's on Prime Video.

You won’t find my favorite cooking show ever, The Great British Baking Show.

In fact, there was one season available on Amazon recently.

But between the few days I was researching this article and then writing it, Amazon had suddenly listed "The Great British Baking Show" as not available.

A list follows of what you can actually see with your Amazon Video subscription.

Amazon Prime Cooking Shows (What to Watch)

Amazon Prime Cooking Shows can be hard to find. So, I created a list for you of what's on Prime Video for food-centric shows.

    My Greatest Dishes

“Twenty of the world's most celebrated chefs have been invited to cook the four dishes that have made them what they are today.”

    Paula's Home Cooking - Season 1

Meet Paula Deen, a woman who literally went from having nothing to having it all in a relatively short time. After the massive success of her business, The Bag Lady, Paula was offered her own cooking show on the Food Network - Paula's Home Cooking. Paula's Home Cooking is where Paula can show you some of her favorite recipes, passed down through her cookbooks

    James Martin: Home Comforts

“In his own kitchen James prepares the dishes that he loves to share with friends as well as those he cooks for on a quiet night in period. He also takes a broader look at home cooking from the recipes we have inherited from our ancestors to local producers that supply him with the best quality ingredients and the budding entrepreneurs who have turned their own family recipes into successful businesses.”

    Truly Texas Mexican

Over time and during conquest, "comida casera," home cooking of Texas Mexican families sustained indigenous identity and memory. Cooking deer, cactus and tortillas, women led the cultural resistance against colonization. This road movie weaves through Texas cities, names the racism that erased Native American history. It celebrates a new type of encounter, one with a table where All are welcome.

    Great British Menu

The country's top chefs compete to cook a fabulous banquet to celebrate the very best produce across the land. Each week, three chefs will battle it out in the kitchen for a chance to cook at the banquet, and in a new twist, a veteran of the competition will also taste and score their dishes daily. Only Two chefs will make it through to the end of the week.

    Primal Grill with Steven Raichlen

Global grilling authority Steven Raichlen returns to offer viewers more step-by-step techniques for creating mouth-watering barbecue dishes in Primal Grill with Steven Raichlen. In season 3, Steven goes global, with a sizzling exploration of grilling around the world - from Balinese lemongrass prawns and Brazilian fogo de chao (campfire barbecue) to South Africa's fiery piri piri chicken wings.

    Gordon Behind Bars

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay thinks it's time Britain's prisoners paid their way. There are 88,000 prisoners in the UK and it costs the taxpayer 38,000 pounds to keep each of them locked up for a year. Gordon's given himself six months to set up a successful food business behind bars. His aim: to get prisoners cooking food on the inside to sell on the outside.

    Travel Cooking Shows on Prime

    • Eat The World with Emeril Lagasse--“Award winning chef Emeril Lagasse embarks on a global adventure with the world's most celebrated chefs. Each episode pairs Emeril with a different culinary star to discover the history, tradition and techniques behind their favorite dishes.”
    • Rick Stein's Mediterranean Escapes--“Inspired by good food that stays in the memory for a long time, sometimes forever. Rick Stein journeys across the Mediterranean, visiting islands and places which radiate a vibrant sense of individuality through their spirit, history and food. Join Rick as he travels from Corsica to Crete straight through the very cradle of cooking in western world.”
    • James Martin's United Cakes of America--this one only came up on the mobile app for Amazon Video not on the TV. “Behind the wheel of a classic American convertible, James will explore a country famed for great desserts from the classic New York cheesecake to the spectacular Philadelphia humble cake. James will uncover the stories and the recipes that make these cakes great.

You may do a cursory search and see many more listings, but, if you look closely, you’ll see a listing underneath the show that says “available on IMDB free with ads.”

If you're looking for Julia Child or Jacques Pepin or Jamie Oliver, you won't find those shows for free on Prime Video.

p.s. are you an Amazon shopper? Shop My Kitchen, I have several Amazon faves listed.

So, when you’re trying to find cooking shows to watch, search a few different ways.

Ideally you’ll have the exact name of the show you’re looking for.

If not, search 'cooking shows' and/or 'Prime video cooking' or 'Amazon Prime food shows' and whatever else you can think of.
