Here is my weekend cooking plan for Nov. 29-30:
So, this weekend, we’re going to go light on the Thanksgiving leftovers because a) Mr. 46 and Mr. 11 ate A Lot. So there aren’t a ton of leftovers and b) what turkey is remaining, I’d like to use for sandwiches to take to work next week. The husband and I have been so good about bringing stuff with us to eat for lunch and it pains us now when there’s nothing to take and we have to spend money for lunch. There have been weeks when I haven’t been prepared with leftovers so I’ve brought odd things like cereal and milk or a bag of pretzels and some cheese slices…
Things are gearing up for the holiday season already. I think we’ve got events happening every week through Christmas–not of my own doing, I might add. These are all just work and school events. So I’m keeping the menu quick and simple this weekend to have a little extra time to do some blog planning for 2015, which is fast approaching. Where in the world did 2014 go?
I have cream and cheese to use up and plenty of pasta, which we haven’t had in a while, so I don’t think anyone’s going to complain about pasta three nights in a row. (We’ll be having leftover spaghetti Monday night).
What are you making this weekend? How many Thanksgiving leftovers do you have? Leave a comment! Remember, every time you comment on a blog post, an angel gets its wings.

The leftovers were gone in 24 hours. I have a strange habit of sending leftovers home with all the relatives (maybe it’s some sort of Southern genetic quirk?), so we didn’t have a ton left anyway.
I can’t even remember what I made this weekend. I think I avoided cooking and Mr. Perfect Brownie took over. 🙂
Yes, I think that’s a Southern trait for sure. And a grandmotherly one. I remember my grandma lining up Tupperware containers of leftovers for everyone to take home after holidays. Since I know you’re nowhere near grandma age yet, it must be southern.
Where the heck are you anyway?
