Welcome to a 31 day series created to help you crush your food costs. Finally, welcome to Day 31: Up Your Fiber Consumption.

This is another easy way to make a small dent in your grocery bill. Choose foods that contain more fiber, like fruit, vegetables, soups, whole grains and high-fiber cereal. These foods will fill up so ideally you eat less and spend less money on groceries, particularly excess snacks. And you should eat better too, if you're eating denser foods.

My favorite cereal is Fiber One. It has something like a third of the day's fiber requirements in a half-cup serving. That half cup has no sugar and is only 60 calories, which makes it a great way to start the morning.

Do you have any high density recipes to share?
