Hi dear friend,
How are you?
I’m in mourning for brightly hued summer blooms, fresh from my garden or someone else’s.
The only fresh flowers available to me now are aging sunflowers. The sunflower is Not my favorite flower. I could do without them entirely but Mr. 47 really likes to grow sunflowers and they do provide a bit of a block in our front yard from nosy neighbors.
So, that’s why I’m sharing this photo of a flower garden I shot in August instead of the rich autumnal leaves every other blogger in New England, if not America, is posting this week.
Never fear, a shot of fiery maple leaves will make an appearance on the site soon.
On to Stuff You’ve Gotta See, Eat + Listen:
I’ve a hankering for a good baked good and I just signed up for The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap of 2015. I participated last year, sending off a dozen cookies to three other food bloggers and getting three dozen in return, all while raising money to help kids beat cancer and getting access to a hundreds of really great cookie recipes. It’s a win, win, I tell ya.
So anyhoo, I’ve been stumbling upon tasty looking recipes all week that I thought you should see.
Butterscotch Brooms, tres adorable let me tell you. And they look so simple to make, maybe a busy kid activity? Or something for book group to eat after multiple glasses of wine?
Cookies aside, it’s always a good time for a cupcake too. Here are tips for making them gorgeous.
Have you ever heard of hot cocoa on a stick? So stinkin’ cute, I tell you.
