Here is my Shaw’s stock up plan for the week of Nov. 28 to Dec. 4:
I don’t see a lot of really great deals. I’ll be buying berries, English muffins and frozen juice.
The berries are usually $3.49 to $4.99 a pint so this is a really good deal–note it only goes until Sunday, Nov.30. Fresh berries sprinkled on a cup of yogurt in the middle of winter lifts the spirit. Perhaps you are thinking, ‘Jennifer, it’s not officially winter yet.’ Well, pal o’ mine, we had our second snowfall the night before Thanksgiving. Seven to nine inches fell. That’s on top of the foot that fell in early November and promptly melted. I can’t remember ever having that much snow in Maine in November. So, as far as I’m concerned, we are in winter’s grip.
I like to keep English muffins in the freezer so Mr. 11 can make himself an English muffin pizza as an after school snack. We also like them for breakfast toasted and drizzled with honey, if I happen to have raw honey in the pantry, even better. I don’t think I’ve ever shared my
love lust for raw honey before. I can eat it with a spoon like a pint of ice-cream. It is soooo good. If you’ve never tried raw honey before, get thee to a health food store post-haste.
I also like to use English muffins for burgers instead of hamburger buns, which are just so flavorless I very rarely buy them anymore.
