The best cooking tip I discovered for August is keeping guacamole fresh courtesy of The Kitchn. You can save guacamole for the next day’s use by pouring about a half cup of water over the top, wrapping with plastic wrap and refrigerating.
Guacamole is one of my favorite foods. I like to put it on fish tacos, sandwiches, beef and chicken tacos, bagels, everything. And of course, it’s good with salty chips and sweet margaritas. But I hate trying to keep it fresh for a second day in a row. Squirting extra lime juice on top and creating a seal with plastic wraps works okay but it always ends up with brown spots.
