Pancakes or Waffles?
Good morning!
You’re on your way to a swanky brunch.
You know the scene. Mimosas crafted with freshly squeezed juice served in crystal flutes.
Bloody Mary cocktails served with instagram worthy garnish. Chefs making omelets to order.
But there’s one more decision to make: pancakes or waffles? I say waffles, always and forever.
Why Do Waffles Get My Vote?
I always choose waffles over pancakes. I love waffles. I like my waffles with a bit of crispiness, drowning in butter and maple syrup, artificial maple syrup of course, none of that authentic Maine maple syrup for me.
I made waffles from scratch on Sunday, mainly for the teenage boy. He said they were good but only ate one, so I don’t know.
I thought they were delicious.
Why Pancakes Aren’t My Favorite
Pancakes are fine but they tend to be too mushy for me to really enjoy.
A stack of fluffy pancakes that are going to dissolve in a bath of syrup? No thank you.
But a couple of crispy waffles, preferably deep dish, so there are plenty of nooks to hold melting butter and syrup, oh yeah!
Your turn: tell me pancakes or waffles?
Do you ever make pancakes or waffles from scratch?
