Hi, how are you? What are you doing for the weekend?
You should check out the Halloween sale on Zulily first.

Here are some things to amuse you or take up part of your workday:
So, because I adore jewels, (glittering is one of my favorite words) I subscribe to jewelry business emails and there was this article about Ben Affleck giving jewelry from the same designer to both a former girlfriend and Jeannifer Lopez, his on-again squeeze I guess.
For you young people reading, Lopez/Affleck aka “Bennifer” were an item in the 90’s or the early aughts, I can’t remember.
The writer was criticizing Affleck for frequenting the same shop for his jewelry purchases. However, there was no consideration in the piece that maybe Affleck is compensated for gifting his glorious girlfriends gems from the shop. You know, like a male jewelry influencer?
I’m fascinated by the idea of neuroplasticity. Watch this for an explanation of neuroplasticity.
Thus I meditate daily.
And I’ve been reading books about changing the way you talk to yourself. Since I spend vast amounts of time inside my head, I think this is a good idea.
To that end, I just finished Jon Acuff’s Soundtracks. I’m not sure how it landed in my inbox but there it was so I read it and he makes a whole bunch of sense about how to get out of negative thought patterns.
I didn’t think I would like Jon Acuff but I do. He’s funny, real and we both list Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird as one of top three favorite books. My dad gave me my copy when I was quite young. Can’t remember how young. Still have it.
I’m nearly finished reading a review copy of Tarot & Tequila and it’s every bit of fun as it sounds.
What have you read lately?
P.s. For all of you like my email reader P.M. sweltering in the summer heat, too warm to bake treats, I’m working on a frozen yogurt bark recipe, which should be finished Monday. Check back. Also, because my husband thinks he’s allergic to dairy products, I’m making a dairy-free yogurt bark as well.
