Hello dear friend, I’m currently in the middle of one of my favorite seasons: summer. Summer gets off to a late start in Maine, usually July, but starting in May, flowers abound. Here is a picture essay of some of my favorites this year.
There’s a few plots of pink tulips near my office that brighten every spring. Do you like tulips? What’s your favorite variety/color? P.s. there was a strong breeze the day I shot these, which is why they appear to be learning away from me.
If I had to choose to be surrounded by just one type of flower for the rest of my life, I would for sure choose lilacs. I adore the fragrance of lilacs and their delicate petals. Lilac season is far too short in Maine. Lilacs also come in white, pink and a darker purple but this lighter (lilac hue) is what grows in my yard. What do you think of lilacs?
Not sure what these beauties are or where I shot them. They may be hummingbird flowers. Does anyone else know?
Is there anything more cheerful than a basketful of petunias? And I like the purple/yellow color combination. What color combinations do you have in your garden? My husband and I have one rule: no yellow or red with the exception of my scarlett runner beans, which produce red blooms.
I have a gorgeous rose bush, which produces the most fragrant roses. I just love it. I need to prune it though. Do you have any roses?
