Day 22: Buy Food in Season
This may seem like a no-brainer but buying food in season is a vital way to crush food costs. This means stocking up on apples and grapes in the fall and citrus in the winter–not vice versa. Or buying pears in October, not May. Food that’s in season, even if it’s not grown where you are (hello Maine) is more plentiful and thus cheaper than food that’s not in season.
