Hello,
I hope you are all well.
I have something exciting to share with you.
Do you see the pretty watercolor picture below? I made it with an app!

It’s so cool!
I. Can’t. Stop. Using. It.
Find Waterlogue in the App Store.
Is there a Waterlogue App for Android?
There doesn’t appear to be, sad to say.
If you have an Android, go to the google play store and search for watercolor.
I found several possibilities, including one called Simply Watercolor, which looks like it might be comparable.
So, what can you do with the Waterlogue app?
You could print out whatever you’ve created for personalized wall art.
Or you could make Christmas cards.
You could also make watercolor Valentine’s Day cards!
The possibilities are endless.
I may try to use the app to make smartphone wallpapers.
Let me know if you want a free phone wallpaper and I’ll get after it.
2. Hah, that leads me to the next thing I’m loving this week. the phrase “get after it.”
For the second time this summer, I’ve heard a person in his or her mid-30’s use the expression, “get after it.”
It amuses me to no end. Can’t explain why.
3. Cookbook author, cook and teacher Diana Kuan is also on my top five list this week.
I took a virtual food styling class from Diana earlier this month at the Brooklyn Brainery.
The class was fun and Diana was really helpful and generous with her time.
Diana even critiqued a few of my food photos after the class.
Diana is teaching a few Chinese cooking classes coming up so check them out at the brainery.
She is the author of The Chinese Takeout Cookbook.
Kuan also wrote Red Hot Kitchen.
4. Sea detritus
One of my five favorites this week are clamshells my husband brought home for me. I love to decorate with shells and things from the sea. Did you know my husband is a commercial lobsterman? I soaked these in Dawn and hot water then laid them in the garden to get bleached by the sun. Do you decorate with shells?
5.
I love clever things like whimsical weathervanes, don’t you? I shot this with my iPhone while I was out on assignment for the paper.
P.S. Did you see this recipe I posted for Habanero Garlic Vinaigrette?
It’s my favorite sauce recipe.
The vinaigrette goes perfectly on Spicy Shrimp Nachos.
