I feel like it’s been forever since we’ve chatted. I’ve been spending a zillion bunches of time on my #write31days series about crushing your food costs. But that’s nearing an end, so we can get back to talking about other things, more important things, like pie, specifically Thanksgiving pie.
The rule in my household, as it was in my mother’s household growing up, is that you prepare one pie per person plus one. This way, there is plenty of pie and usually plenty of variety.
Pie, however, is also one of those desserts that can be intimidating, what with pie crust sticking to you, the counter and the cats. But, it needn’t be. You can always go with a prepared pie crust, there’s no pie shame in that. And most people won’t be able to tell the difference. Or, you can check out one of the handy dandy links for pie and crust making I’ve found for you below.
So tell me, what kind of pie are you having on Thanksgiving?
Happy baking, XO
