How are you dear one? I’m recovering a bit from the trials of motherhood and the meanness of preteen boy.
This afternoon, 12 was playing four square with a new kid who needed a ride home from the playground. On trip home, 12 shushed me when I was making conversation with the boy! It was an almost imperceptible shush but a shush just the same. I know I wasn’t imagining the shush because I glanced over to glare at him and he subtly shook his head back and forth.
But I digress, does it seem like the calm before the holiday storm? It really isn’t calm. You’ve got a lot to do as do I.
Found your Thanksgiving tablecloth? If you can’t find it or you have found it but it’s so filthy from years of use you don’t dare put it out, I have a really cheap and fun solution for you. Get what’s called an endroll of newsprint. You should be able to buy one from your local paper and most don’t charge more than a dollar or two. Endroll paper is kind of like Kraft paper only cheaper and thinner. Cut a piece the length of your table and put out pens/crayons/markers. Let guests draw pretty pictures or write what they’re grateful for while they’re waiting for the feast to begin.
On my to do list is cleaning my oven. Here’s how Martha says to clean an oven. However, my oven is so disgustingly dirty I think I’m going to need really strong chemicals to scrub it clean.
Tell me what’s on your Thanksgiving to do list?
