Pepsi 1893 is the wrong generation for this family.
Happy almost weekend to you. Have you tried the fancy schmancy cans of Pepsi 1893 yet? I like to try new things and so do Mr. 47 and Mr. 12 for the most part. So I grabbed a can of the Original Cola for us to try.
Pepsi Cola describes the new Original Cola as a blend of kola nut extract, dark brown malt flavor, a touch of aromatic bitters, sparkling water and real sugar.
The 1893 moniker is a reference to the year a drink that predates Pepsi came out.
To be honest, I’ve never been a Pepsi fan. I’m a hardcore Coca Cola fangirl through and through so much so that Coca Cola should probably have me doing their social media for them.
Anyhoo, setting that aside, none of us were terribly impressed with the Original Cola, which reminded me of what it would taste like if you melted those gummy cinnamon bear candies and stirred it into a flat can of 7Up. Mr. 47 said it tasted like a can of weak regular Pepsi and it reminded Mr. 12 of root beer.
We won’t buy it again but I’d love to hear what you think if you try Pepsi 1893. Leave a comment if you’ve tried it or you think you’d like to try it.
