Hello Merry Chrismoose and Hanukkah Hanna,
How are you this week? I’m trying to get everything wrapped in the next two days, get a slew of cookies baked and figure out Christmas Eve/Christmas Day menu. Christmas is not a culinary holiday for me the way Thanksgiving and the New Year is. I like to keep our dining simple and snackable so I’m not spending much time away from new toys. Our meals will probably entail a smoked ham and smoked fish. My parents sent us a box of cheese and crackers and smoked sausage from Harry and David so there will be that too.
Are you traveling for the holidays or hosting family? We will be here in Maine. Mr. 47 and Mr. 12 have a week off but I’m nearly out of time off. But, I’ll at least have two four-day work weeks.
I’m posting this weekly link feature two days early because we’re all going to be busier and busier as Christmas nears:
Do you buy a sub-par $9.99 ice scraper/snow brush every year only to lose it and not really care because it didn’t work that great to begin with? The Wirecutter tested numerous ice scrapers and gives you their top recommendation.
I’ve been looking at gift-giving differently this year since kon-mari-ing half my life earlier this year. Experiences instead of things are almost always winning gifts. Here are ideas.
One of my intentions for 2015 was to get back to a daily yoga practice. I try to do a Yoga by Candace video but if I’m short on time, I at least do a couple of downward dogs in the morning. It may not seem like much but it stretches everything, makes me slow my brain and focus on my breath, all good things.
Tell me what you’re up to this week,
