Let’s talk about the Federal Trade Commission, its rules about endorsements and product placements and this food blog.
Currently, I am an affiliate for a select group of companies, including Target Corp. and Apple.
Being an affiliate means that if I link to Target’s website or the App Store or iTunes in a blog post and you click those links and end up making a purchase, I receive a small commission from the sale. Your price for the item as a consumer is the same as it would if you hadn’t clicked an affiliate link.
If a company sends me a free product and I write about it, I will tell you.
If a company pays me to write about a product or to produce a post, I will tell you.
Sometimes publishers will send me free books. If I write about any of those free books, I will tell you they were free. (Of course, I also write about books I’ve purchased myself.) Many books I don’t receive but don’t review are donated to the Blue Hill Public Library or its Friends Group.
This blog is a personal blog written and edited by me. This blog accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation.
This blog abides by word of mouth marketing standards. U believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. The compensation received may influence the advertising content, topics or posts made in this blog. That content, advertising space or post will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content.
Sometimes I am compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. Even though I receive compensation for certain posts or advertisements, I always give my honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the bloggers’ own. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
I only write about products, foods, kitchen gadgets, apps and books that I believe are well-made and useful for both of us.
The views and opinions expressed in this blog are purely and entirely my own. I do not claim to be nor make an effort to be an expert on a certain topic, product or service.
